Maison Martin Margiela’s flagship store is Situated within the Sanlitun Road district in Beijing. The multi-floor boutique houses their complete range including both women’s and men’s apparel, accessories and home collections. The store is all concrete, wood, glass and mirrors, with vintage style factory lighting, white gloss tiled cubicles and honeycomb pattern strip lighting. This is contrasted with digitally printed black and white trompe-l’oeil wallpaper and pure white soft furnishings. Featuring a highly dramatic stainless steel slide that snakes from top to bottom, spilling a showcase of homewards in the front window display. The store’s aesthetic is, as always with Margiela, edgy with an industrial  and laboratory influence.

These simplistic sandals from MUJI have been on my mind since I first spotted them a few weeks ago on Vanillascented. They would make a great staple summer item being so minimal and versatile. They just come in off white, and also black and are made from rubber and sponge.

STRATEAS.CARLUCCI is a new creative collaboration between Australian designers Peter Strateas and Mario-Luca Carlucci. STRATEAS CARLUCCI designs are focused around construction and tailoring, whilst adopting utilitarian elements. The labels vision is to create garments that are timeless through structured and minimal styles. Guided by their interest in the exploration of sculpture and the human form the overall focus of the Label is in the creation of a unique limited garment, interesting fabrications, master craftsmanship and sublime structures and fits.
